We are working to help improve the quality of life and the physical and mental health of some our local community’s most vulnerable members. The Foundation has a particular focus on football, wider sport and health based projects.
We also aim to advance the education of children and the broader community with programmes and facilities giving opportunities to those who would otherwise be denied them through disadvantage or lack of opportunity.

Weekly sessions at the stadium are run for girls only in primary school year groups on Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 am. Sessions are non-competitive but give an opportunity to learn new skills, develop their understanding of football and improve their social skills!
Cost per session £5

Our fastest growing section is a great way to start or return to football. Walking football has also been shown to have health benefits including reduction in the risk of Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes and Strokes. Hour long sessions are run at the Stadium on Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:00 pm and from 9am to 10am am on Saturdays.
We currently have an Over 50’s Mens, 2x Over 60s Mens, and one Over 40s Ladies and also currently starting up a Over 65’s mens team! We also have aspirations to grow our ladies section for 2 teams!

We have recently started free football based sessions in co operation with The Oaks College, a local specialist disability college. Initially Oaks College students came to the Halcyon Wealth stadium to undertake routine tasks around the ground.
Completing these tasks helped to significantly increase students’ confidence. We also currently work within Nexus SEN School as part of our schools programme!
We believe that these football sessions can offer significant opportunities for students with disabilities or with mental health difficulties to acquire social skills and social confidence in a safe ,fun and friendly environment. Our intention is to establish a team in the Kent Disability Football League.

Away from the stadium we have established contact with 8 local Primary Schools. Our FA qualified coaches provide weekly sessions at these schools for all ages of primary school children.
This gives these children an opportunity to enjoy football which they might otherwise have missed.
Our school programme also includes multi-sport, and multi-skills clubs!

At half term, supported by the Mears Foundation, we run Foot-Tea sessions at the Stadium.
These are for children who qualify for free school dinners and provide one hour of football and a free hot meal for some of our most deserving local children. What better way to make new friends and play the beautiful game!

FOUNDATION SUPPORT
Our community based activities already have support from organisations like Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, the National League Trust and the Mears Foundation. We are incredibly grateful for this support but there is only so much we can do with Grants. We are trying to encourage corporate sponsors and fund raising activities and events.
Individuals can however also get involved by making a one off or a regular financial commitment. Or, just as importantly by spending some time supporting the Foundation in one or more of its activities.
If you are interested in supporting the Foundation in any way please contact us by emailing johnrgarwood@hotmail.co.uk.
