Tonbridge Angels confirmed in the summer of 2025 that Jordan Higgs would be returning to the club following a season at our National League South neighbours, Maidstone United.
Jordan left the club at the end of 2023/24; a memorable season that brought him the Supporters’ Player of the Year, Player’s Player of the Year and Goal of the Season for, ironically, the stunning equaliser against Maidstone on Boxing Day of 2023. He had made of total of 46 appearances, scoring four times.
On the back of such a stellar season it was inevitable that Jordan would attract interest and the lure of full time football at the Gallagher was a factor that, despite the efforts of our chair, Sophie Purves and manager at the time, Jay Saunders, the club were unable to compete with.
Higgo’s season at Maidstone had been chequered, he sustained an ankle injury that sidelined him for a couple of months and, ultimately, was named in a starting line-up 14 times, coming off the bench on a further three occasions whilst being the club’s vice-captain and captaining the side several times.
Prior to his time at the Angels, Jordan made 41 appearances for Dover Athletic in the 22/23 season, scoring six times, one of which being a stunning 30 yard strike against the Angels at the Crabble in August 2022, which no doubt attracted the attention of Jay Saunders.
A graduate of Bromley’s Academy, Jordan spent six seasons at Hayes Lane, making 131 appearances (nine goals) including the 2018 FA Trophy Final in which he suffered the heartbreak of a Wembley defeat, on penalties, to Brackley Town.
Jordan left Bromley at the beginning of 2020/21 for Dulwich Hamlet where, over a two season spell, he made 44 appearances, scoring once before Andy Hessenthaler brought him to Dover for whom he excelled in a struggling team throughout that season.
