Squad update

Tonbridge Angels are pleased to confirm three loan signings, all of whom are available for selection for this afternoon’s game at Chippenham Town.

Laurie Shala, is a 21 year-old goalkeeper who has joined from Wycombe Wanderers.

Laurie, a Kosovan Under-21 international, has been at Wycombe since 2022, joining after a youth career at West Ham and Crystal Palace.

He has had two successful loan spells at Potters Bar and has accumulated over 40 appearances in the Isthmian League Premier and in September spent a month at Walton and Hersham.

Manager Alan Dunne welcomed his new shot stopper: “I’m really pleased to get Laurie in. He’s highly thought of at Wycombe and definitely one for the future. We’re all looking forward to working with him.”

Franklin Domi, a 25 year-old versatile midfielder, joins from Ebbsfleet United.

Franklin, an Albanian Under-21 international, is a product of the Queens Park Rangers youth programme, whom he joined from Enfield Town.

After spending time at Ebbsfleet on loan, he joined the National League South club upon his release from Loftus Road in 2022. He was a pivotal member of the title-winning squad of 2022/23 and has subsequently made clear of 100 appearances for the Fleet.

Alan Dunne said: â€śI’m pleased to get Franklin through the door. He’s a left-sided player and will give our shape more balance. His versatility will be a great asset for us.”

Our third signing is the familiar face of Ethan Sutcliffe, now 21 years-old, who joins for a third loan spell with the Angels from AFC Wimbledon.

Ethan made 28 appearances, scoring twice, in his first spell in 2023, after which he returned to his parent club AFC Wimbledon and was duly awarded a new two year contract.

Last season, he returned to Tonbridge in late September, making a further 33 appearances, scoring another four goals. Ethan has made 61 appearances in total for the Angels, a remarkable number for a player on loan.

Alan Dunne said of Ethan’s return: â€śEthan needs no introduction. He has served the club really well during his previous loans. He will bolster our defence as well as posing a threat going forward.”

We wish Laurie, Franklin and Ethan enjoyable spells at the club and would like to thank their respective clubs for facilitating the loans.
